I'm sure you've been receiving all those emails from companies asking you to opt-in to their mailing list again, we certainly have and I'm sure that by now you'll have heard of the new EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) that are due to come into force in May 2018. So we're going to tell you straight what we do with your data, it seems simpler that way!
As a small company who only sell on-line we've been overwhelmed, confused and sometimes baffled by the huge amount of 'legalese' surrounding these regulations but it seems to come down to 'transparency', simply letting people know what we do with your data and giving you the option to opt-out if you wish. Something very topical in the light of the recent Facebook revelations.
When you place an order with us we will request certain information from you that allows us to fulfill it quickly and effectively. This will include your name, address, phone number and email address. We will also give you the option to add a separate shipping address and contact details should they differ from the billing details but we do not keep any payment details such as card numbers or Paypal information- ever! Your payments are processed through a secure third party gateway called Braintree which is owned by Paypal.
When you check-out you have the option to de-select the box that opts you in to receiving our Newsletter. To be honest, we don't often produce a Newsletter! Nor to we often send marketing emails in fact it's no more than one or two a year and that's because the nature of our business doesn't often result in return customers. Once you have your wedding favours and gifts it's unlikely you're going to have another one anytime soon so there's no point in sending out emails telling you all about our latest range. If we're lucky some customers will remember us and come back for Christening or Communion favours - guys we love you!
Our website is hosted by a third-party in the U.S. who participate in the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework but we think that the two most important points for you to know are:-
1. We do not sell your personal data to anyone for any reason.
2. We do not buy personal data from anyone for any reason.
